SIDE SLEEPING

Updated: Oct 23

Hey there!

When I find something good, I have to share!

A year ago, I went to my dermatologist and my injectables doctor to address more pronounced eye wrinkles. Both doctors independently told me that procedures and injectables were not a solution to my concern as the nature of my wrinkles around my eyes and cheeks were due to side sleeping. What do you mean there is no solution!?? I live in the land of Hollywood, I can snap my fingers and supposedly look 20 years younger right!? Apparently wrong. My injectables doctor recommended I retrain myself to sleep solely on my back to cause any further damage or purchase a side sleeping pillow. I left the office determined to sleep on my back and to change my wrinkle trajectory however I was unable to do so, not even for one night.

Some of the most beautiful women on the planet, Megan Fox, JLo and historically beautiful Japanese Geishas have shared that they sleep on their back to prevent wrinkles. You should know that we sleep about 1/3 of our life and learning of this makes me want to be more aware of my sleeping habits that can help me age better naturally. With the recent weather and my age, my skin is considerably drier than ever which only accentuates my wrinkles even more! Some mornings after a hard sleep, I even have deep eye wrinkles that stay embedded in my skin for hours! Due to my failed attempt to become a back sleeper, I made a routine facial appointment with my doctor and further inquired about a sleep pillow. She shared that there is only one particular brand that she would recommend and that was the Sleep & Glow Omnia Pillow.

I have been using my new pillow for almost two weeks now and I cannot say enough good things about it. My only regret is that I wish I had used this 20 years ago! Now, I want to share this with all of you, to get a head start in general wrinkle prevention and to protect the fragile skin around your eye.

Upon receiving and unboxing the pillow, I was surprised by how small it was in comparison to what I currently use, two top of the line thick pillows. The Sleep & Glow in comparison is also quite thin with an additional insert for more thickness per your preference. The cutouts on the pillow are a patented design that limits contact between the face and pillow while also being anatomically healthy for our spine. Upon my initial evaluation of the pillow, I found myself feeling a bit pessimistic about this process. However, here I am writing this review two weeks later and I love it! It should be noted that there was an adjustment period, as the booklet even states, and I also recommend giving the pillow a fair shot. The guilt of sleeping on my side is gone, my back sleeping is more comfortable and I am getting some of the best nights sleep ever! Even my husband shared that I am not tossing and turning as much which always keeps him up. As a side sleeper himself and learning of the benefits, he asked for me to buy one for him as well. For the meantime, we are fighting over mine! ha
