Feeling this way is so much more than genetics. In fact, our genetics only play a role of approximately 10% when it comes to your health.  I want you to know that I went through years of grueling and debilitating depression. I saw some of the most respected doctors in the country and still did not find resolution until 2021.  I finally found the right practitioners and I learned along the way that you have to be a diligent self-advocate.  Controlling your mental health starts with you; taking a deep dive into your medical state and accessing your lifestyle with humility.  My own journey made me realize that there is a gap in the mental health space in helping guide individuals to finding the source of what is causing your depression or anxiety. 

I truly believe that our society is far too eager to prescribe medications for depression and anxiety.  I do see meds as one possible solution but there are also critical things to review about your body and mind that need to be explored. There are a surprising amount of things to check off to see if your feelings are caused by something medical, past brain trauma, current medications, etc. Finding a cause and solution can be overwhelming....well not anymore because I am here with you!
